“Fantastic Dishes with a Few Really Inventive Twists on Comfort Food”

I LOVE this place! I come to Lake Geneva from Chicago a few times a year to unwind but I assure you that Sopra always tops my lists of places to go. I have dined here several times and it has NEVER let me down. The menu is well thought out and diverse enough that it really has something for everyone. I have had a few of the following dishes in my trips here, either personally or stealing a bite from a friends plate ;) and they are fantastic! For starters the lobster won tons are tasty bites along with the lighter cousins the tuna tar tar and octopus dish. In terms of the pastas the pot-roast pappardelle is such a great twist on classic comfort food! The gnocchi dish is incredible. For main courses both the duck as well as the pork may have changed my life! And who doesn't love some truffle fries I mean really.....I HIGHLY suggest that the next time you are in Lake Geneva stop through grab a super reasonably priced glass....or bottle...of wine ;) a few dishes to nibble on and you will feel relaxed and content by the time the last scoop of dessert is crossing your lips.

“A Wonderful Surprise”

Being a Chicagoan, whenever I travel, I usually surrender to the fact that eating out may be a mediocre experience. So I am surprised when it turns out to be the opposite. This is one of those times. The atmosphere was uncontrived, welcoming and comfortable. I went on a Saturday and it was bustling so I was not shocked or upset to wait. I was welcomed by everyone...host, bartender and who I found out later was the owner. The cocktail list was delightful and the craft beer selection was incredible. Duck, short rib, octopus...this menu had just the chef driven dishes I craved and executed on a level that satisfied even some of the most finicky people at my table. Server was knowledgeable, unpretentious, charming and highly efficient. The owner even checked back to make sure we were ok. I love this. This place has definitely won me over. It's going to be my little gem in Lake Geneva and I can't wait to go back.

“Overall A Great Experience!”

We ate here last Saturday, there were 4 of us,all foodies from Chicago. The concierge at the Abbey highly recommended this restaurant for it's food and atmosphere. We were not disappointed.....everything was great. We sat at the bar first and had martinis chatting with Adam the bartender.
The meal was excellent.....we shared everything......our favorites were the grilled octopus and the shortribs with the grilled salmon a close second.
All the staff were very friendly.....the owner chatted with us at our table and made us feel very welcome and even recommended the Baker House for late night drinks. We have dined in most of the Lake Geneva restaurants.....Sopra is the best yet.

“Had a Great Date Night With My Husband at Sopra!!”

I was in Lake Geneva on Oct. 8 & 9 with my husband. It was our first time away from our kids and were celebrating my birthday and decided to go to Sopra for dinner. If was wonderful. The atmosphere was great. Small and cozy, yet lively and fun. The food was great. We got the escargot and chooped up salad to start, and a bottle of red wine. I ordered the lamb shank. It came with gnocchi and it was fantastic! My husband ordered the steak which was toped with blue cheese and served with fries. The orders were pretty big, actually my husband said to me that it was the first time he hadn't finished a meal. Needless to say, we had a great weekend away, and Sopra was defiantly a highlight of our getaway. Can't wait to go back!!

“Good Food, Good Service”

DH and I took advantage of a restaurant.com offer to eat dinner at Sopra Bistro during our Lake Geneva stay. The restaurant was located on the main street in town, just a short walk from our hotel. It is a small establishment with a well stocked bar. Since it was the end of October, there were very few people in town, which was reflected in the few people in the restaurant. We were greeted warmly by the wait staff, the menu was well explained. I had the pan seared duck breast with sweet potato fries, which was very well prepared. There were two very large duck breasts, one of which I shared with DH. The fries were delicious and served to quell my need for a dessert. DH had the cioppino which had large pieces of seafood in a delicious savory broth. Prices were comparable to Los Angeles and Chicago for the same level of food and service. We would gladly return for another dinner, even without the restaurant.com coupon.

Went to sopra on a weekday early evening.   My wife, 3 year old and one year old were greeted warmly and situated with plenty of room.  Don't know what it would be like on a busy weekend but it was very kid friendly for us.  Most importantly my truffle oil, saffron, tarragon, lobster penne was absolutely world class.  I'm from Chicago and honestly don't remember a better pasta dish.  Great martinis and my wife loved the wine selection.  Our server Meg was great and very knowledgable. Will definitely come back again!

Absolutely the best salmon, sweet potato dries, wilted spinach meal in the Midwest. Top it off with a chocolate gelato covered in marsh,allow creme topped with a slight burn and you have a meal worth driving for. Husbands duck was tender and flavorful. This restaurant is not to be missed.  Pricey for lake Geneva hot dog weekenders but right in line with Chicagoans expectations -100 for the meal end to end and including drinks.  Service was entertaining and attentive. Favorite place in LG. A Must go.

We came for drinks and dessert and it was amazing!!! Can't wait to go back for dinner next time I am in lake Geneva. If you go for dessert, try s'mores with their homemade marshmallow fluff - amazing! Beautiful, clean and modern!

This is a premium restaurant. The food is gourmet and wonderful. Our server/bartender, Adam, was so knowledgeable about all the food. He was so helpful and attentive. This bistro has instantly become one of our most favorite places to eat. SO VERY GOOD!!!!

We ate here on on Tues night last week and it was wonderful!  Great ambience - hip, but not loud, upbeat, nice.  Nice menu and wine choices.  Food was excellent.  This is probably the best food I have had in the Lake Geneva area ever!
